See if you can figure out *my* message

Those with a religion to sell often like to say that natural disasters, hurricanes, for example, are God sending a message to us lowly humans (who are apparently too stupid to understand something less fatal, like, you know sky-writing). And usually, to hear them tell it, God's message is a condemnation against something that the religious guy doesn't like, for example, same sex marriage, "sin" or abortion.

To demonstrate this, religious doofuses Ken Ham and Kirk Cameron have both said this week that the tragic and terrible Hurricanes Harvey and Irma are some sort of message from Jesus.

Let's assume these two "geniuses" are correct. So here's my question.

If God sent two hurricanes and they hit (1) Texas, and (2) Florida, both states that have Republican governments, deny climate change, and voted for Trump, isn't the message pretty clear that God hates Republicans, denial of climate change, and Trump?

I mean, there really is no way to interpret this message as being directed at the usual suspects, gays, trans people, or liberals.

So which is it Ken and Kirk?
