It's a METAPHOR people.

The Pixar short that runs before Incredibles 2 is called Bao. Directed by Chinese-Canadian director Domee Shi.
The short tells the tale of an aging woman who’s dealing with empty-nest syndrome. When one of her dumplings comes to life, she’s afforded another chance at motherhood. However, she soon learns that the dumpling child, like most things in life, won’t stay “cute and small forever.”  Link

Apparently, a bunch of stupid (white) people were confused by the story. Many of them expressed their confusion on Twitter (click on the link to see). Needless to say, while the story resonated especially strongly with Asian immigrants who recognized elements of their own lives, the emotions in the story are universal and shouldn't be confusing at all. The story reflects the human experience. It doesn't have to be about white people to be understood or to be universal.

I saw the short again last night (yes, I saw Incredibles 2 again) and it made me cry.

Think, people. Think and empathize and you'll get along fine. Plus, the world will be a better place.
