What? No Jar-Jar?

Entertainment Weekly has posted a list and discussion of their picks for the best Science Fiction on television and movies since 1982. It's an excellent list. I quibble only with the placement of some items and their choice for #1, which shouldn't even be on the list. (And, yes, I do understand why it's #1). It's a fun read.

Reading your comments before I read the list, I was sure that number one was going to be Independence Day. I'll never understand your hatred of that movie when compared to your love of the crapfest Starship Troopers.

I don't think Matrix should be number one, either.

Yeah, I was cringing for the lame placement of Independence Day, but it's a no show. Hooray!

Starship Troopers is satire, Independence Day isn't. That's the major difference.
