Rachel and I went to see Juno yesterday.
Juno is an excellent, moving film that handles a mature subject with a great deal of humor and sensitivity, creating wonderful characters it's easy to care about. It has a quirky, "Napoleon Dynamite" vibe, but is very smart and very well written. Ellen Page will surely get an Oscar nomination for her incredibly realistic portrayal of the title character and I'd be shocked if the movie doesn't get a screenplay nod. Juno is easily one of the best (and funniest) movies of the year.
Roger Ebert's review touches on what makes Juno a great film without giving away too much information. Check it out here.
As far as seeing this with a teenage daughter, there were a few uncomfortable moments, but nothing a good parent shouldn't be able to handle. Unfortunately, I haven't yet been able to get Rachel to open up about it very much other than to say she liked it.
