Say it Ain't so, Samuel

Joe the Plumber's story sprang a few leaks Thursday.

Turns out that the man who was held up by John McCain as the typical, hard-working American taxpayer isn't really a licensed plumber. And court documents show he owes nearly $1,200 in back taxes.

"Joe," whose name is Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, was cited repeatedly in Wednesday night's final presidential debate by McCain for questioning Barack Obama's tax policy. Link

Could this thing get any more surreal?

John McCain, facing an uphill road to the White House, said Thursday that "I love where we are" as he continued to hammer his Democratic rival for waging what he calls class warfare. Link
I stand corrected. McCain loves being 8 points behind with only three weeks to go. He thinks it's "hawsome". (Note that the linked article from Fox News says that the race is "tightening" despite polls showing that McCain is losing ground.)

And the "class warfare" thing is just rich. When all the tax breaks go to the rich, in hopes that the wealth will "trickle down", that's okay with him. But when there's a suggestion that those who can afford to pay taxes and eat at the same time should pay a bigger share than those who have to choose between taxes and eating, it's suddenly "class warfare".

Wanker.

So, if Obama wins are you going to hold a gaming celebration?

I'm holding a celebration whoever wins. If Obama wins, it will be a gaming celebration. If McCain wins, it will be a goodbye party before I move to England.
