Former speechwriter for Pres. George W. Bush, Marc Thiessen, appeared on tonight's Daily Show to whine about how Liz Cheney is being unfairly maligned (by both the Right and the Left) for calling into question the loyalty of American lawyers who defended accused terrorists in court. Of course everyone tried in our system is entitled to representation and suggesting that those who take up this difficult but absolutely necessary cause are traitors is reprehensible and disgusting. And Thiessen's "lock 'em up and throw away the key" mentality towards people who haven't even been charged with a crime is utterly repugnant.
Jon Stewart let the guy talk, then made his arguments and a spirited conversation was had. But Thiessen petulantly whined when Stewart disagreed with him. Thiessen had ample time to make his unAmerican, fascist points and couldn't handle being called on them. Then he whined even harder when Stewart wouldn't let him have the last word. What a baby.
I'll post the video tomorrow when it's up.
One of the most dickish interviewees I've ever seen.
