Alabama is (apparently) filled with imbeciles

In the Alabama Republican primary, flaunting your ignorance is apparently a big plus with the electorate.

The target of this attack, Bradley Byrne, will certainly answer this moronic attack in a reasoned manner, supporting good science and reality, won't he?
As a Christian and as a public servant, I have never wavered in my belief that this world and everything in it is a masterpiece created by the hands of God. As a member of the Alabama Board of Education, the record clearly shows that I fought to ensure the teaching of creationism in our school text books.
 Alabama, you're an idiot.

As to one of their accusations, why on Earth would anyone want to try to look conservative?

In fairness to Alabamans, I came across this story in a blog operated by a liberal Alabaman--which seems an oxymoron but is not.

Nevertheless, the general point is correct. The average IQ in the state is apparently below that of a rock.
