I don't think he really knows what an atheist is . . .

"I have two grandchildren: Maggie is 11; Robert is 9.  I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America, by the time they're my age they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists and with no understanding of what it once meant to be an American."  Newt Gingrich, (R-Panderer) to the Cornerstone Church.

Myself, I worry about a future where America will be a country ruled by intelligent Apes, dominated by dogs.

What?  That doesn't make any sense?  If the country is ruled by Apes then how could the country be dominated by dogs?

Ask Gingrich to explain.  It makes as much sense as what he said.

Baptists (Gingrich was a Baptist until his conversion to Catholicism in 2009) often seem to use the word “atheist” to mean anyone who isn’t a committed Christian.
