I am typing this with one hand.
Traditionally, when someone says this on the Internet they elicit cries of "Eww" and "TMI!" Well, today I'm typing with one hand for another reason. My right arm is splinted and immobile.
For the past several months I've been experiencing chronic pain in my right forearm and elbow. I complained to my Doctor last week and he referred me to a specialist. The specialist believes my problem stems from problems relating to statins I take to lower my cholesterol. The statins take out the good cholesterol the tendons need and make them degrade. That's why I'm feeling pain.
He gave me several options and I took the least invasive. Two weeks of immobility in my right elbow (my arm is in a 90 degree splint) followed by physical therapy. I can't write very well and it's difficult to type. My arm was aching pretty badly this afternoon until I shifted the arm to my side rather than slung out in front of me. I finally took off the sling this evening and things are much better. I was getting pretty frustrated up till then.
So for the next two weeks I'm a southpaw. You can follow my wacky adventures right here.
