7 Billion People

There are now approximately 7 billion humans on the planet.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say here that we really don’t need that many. I’m not advocating killing anyone, I’m just saying that 7 billion of us is plenty and given living space and resource issues, if we slowly dwindled through attrition down to 5 billion, we’d still have enough people to do everything we’d like to do. We certainly don’t need 8 billion, 10 billion or more.

So here’s hoping that we’ll level out somewhere at a sustainable level without putting more strain on our already strained ability to feed and care for ourselves.
