More of the campaign against public servants

And while we're on the subject of Federal Workers, here's a recent quote from Republican Presidential candidate front-runner, Mitt Romney.
Multimillionaire Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney (R) told employees at a steel fabrication plant on Monday that government employees “are making a lot more money than we are.”
Wearing his best plaid work shirt and Tommy Bahama blue jeans, the candidate explained to workers at Giese Manufacturing that he would slash the number of federal employees if elected.
“We have to cut back on the scale of the federal government,” Romney declared. “And for me that will start by reducing federal employees by 10 percent. You do that through attrition.”
“And then something else that is just as important, and that’s to make sure the people who work for government don’t get better pay and better benefits than people that work in the private sector.”  Link
See what he did there?  He said federal employees are making "a lot more money than WE are".  By which he means himself, multi-millionaire Mitt Romney, who has a net worth of approximately $250 million.  I'd like to know exactly which federal workers are doing that so I can apply for their job.  (Of course, as a full time candidate, Mitt isn't actually making a salary, which is likely what he means.  It's still a ridiculous, moronic thing to say.)

As to slashing the federal workforce, eliminating several hundred thousand more jobs (even evil government jobs) wouldn't be good for the economy or the families who depend on those jobs.  These candidates are really pathological about government workers.

As far as his last point about government workers not getting better pay and benefits than people in the private sector, (1) they don't.  And (2) why the hell not?  Why shouldn't government workers get paid better?  Don't we want the best people working for the people of the United States?  Do we really want to lowball the people who keep us safe, educate our children, run our social safety net, guard our food supply and all the other things they do?

What kind of morons want undermotivated, bottom of the barrel employees working for the public good?

Oh yeah.  Republicans.
