For the past thirty+ years, we've listened to Republicans talk about how Democrats are CRAZY over spending and that you don't dare give them control of America's purse because they will definitely go out and spend all our money. When I was a Republican, I used to say and believe this.
Thing is, it's a lie.
During Clinton's first term, government spending increased less than 3%. During Obama's first term, spending actually dropped. During the Republican Administrations spending increased from between 6 and 12%. Republicans have been spinning propaganda about Democratic spending habits for decades. What a shock!
If you believe the Democrats are the party of spending and Republicans are fiscally conservative, you need to open your eyes.
