Are you a "victim"? Do you take "personal responsibility" for your life?

One of the Presidential candidates (guess who) actually said this:
“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what...
“Our message of low taxes doesn’t connect...so my job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to do is convince the five to 10 percent in the center that are independents, that are thoughtful....”
Republican candidate Mitt Romney said this in a private meeting with rich backers. Here are the various stupid claims he made:

1) If you are voting for the President, you believe you are a victim.
2) If you are voting for the President, you are dependent on the government.
3) If you are voting for the President, you believe that government has a responsibility to care for you.
4) If you are voting for the President, you can never be convinced that you should take personal responsibility for your life.
5) If you are voting for the President, you are not thoughtful.

In actuality, of the 47% who don’t owe federal income tax, the vast majority are the elderly, students, and those too poor to owe any income tax. Oh, and rich douchebags like Mitt Romney, who DOESN’T PAY INCOME TAX. So he’s voting for Obama?

Also in actuality, the states where the highest percentage of the 47% who don’t owe federal income tax live are southern states, aka, the Republican base. Are they voting for Obama? (Yes, the Republican meme about the 47% who don’t pay taxes actually insults Republicans more than Democrats).

And, call me crazy, but I believe that every American, indeed, every person, should be entitled to health care, food and housing. These are basic human needs and a compassionate country should make sure that all its citizens have access to these necessities. Doesn’t that book Mitt is supposed to revere say, “"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:17-18?

No two ways about it, Mitt Romney is a huge dick.
