Etch-a-Sketch

Yesterday, in a flash of stunned enlightenment, Mitt Romney suddenly remembered that he can say absolutely anything he wants, whether it’s true or not or contradicts something he previously said, because he wants to be President really badly.
"Clearly in a campaign with hundreds if not thousands of speeches and question-and-answer sessions, now and then you're going to say something that doesn't come out right," Romney said on Fox News. "In this case, I said something that's just completely wrong."
He’s now admitting he was “completely wrong” about this:
“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what...
“Our message of low taxes doesn’t connect...so my job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to do is convince the five to 10 percent in the center that are independents, that are thoughtful....”
In the weeks since those hateful words became public knowledge, Romney confirmed several times that they reflect his true beliefs. But after he lied his ass off during the debate on Wednesday night and was still declared the “winner”, he’s realized that he can say absolutely whatever he wants and get away with it. So since he was taking a huge hit in public opinion over the remarks, now you can believe him that he was “completely wrong”.

Until he says something else.
