Quick Thought on Disney/Star Wars
You've probably already heard the big news of the week (besides the Hurricane): Disney is buying LucasFilm from George Lucas and has announced a new Star Wars movie for 2015. It's huge news if you're a Star Wars fan and raises all kinds of ideas if you're a Disney fan. Disney hasn't done too badly with Marvel, so I'm cautiously optimistic.
But my first reaction to the news was absolutely clear. I thought it was a practical joke.
We live in strange times.

True.
I'm actually optimistic about this. If we're going to have more Star Wars, allowing other people to create in GL's universe should be a good thing. This deal really opens the Star Wars universe to more creative input from a wide variety of folk who grew up with it.
