Charts of the Day


First up, the huge "problem" of the deficit, which Republicans have portrayed as the number one issue facing our economy.  (Hint, the number one issue should be "jobs".)  The chart below shows the deficit has been nearly cut in half since Obama became President. (Which, honestly, is counter-productive in a recession economy.)


This next chart shows the share of wages as a percentage of the economy. In other words, pay for American workers is at historic lows, exacerbating income inequality.



And finally, teen pregnancy rates by state. Note anything about the states that tend to have no sex ed or teach abstinence only?  (Those would tend to be the southern states.)
