The Lottery

While I totally get the appeal of fantasizing about winning over $1 billion, the fact is, I'm not going to win the lottery and you're not going to win the lottery. So I don't waste my money on tickets.

Yesterday and today, I made offers to two people I know regarding their plans to buy lottery tickets. I told them that instead of buying lottery tickets, they could give the money to me. Then, next week, I'd give them half the money back, guaranteeing them a 50% rate of return. Just after 10PM tonight, their rate of return will be 0%.

Neither of them took me up on my generous offer.
