Justice Scalia Dead

Wow.  The sudden death of Justice Antonin Scalia was a huge surprise.

I'm not going to shed any tears for Scalia; he made America worse on a regular basis. Now we get to watch Senate Republicans leave his seat vacant for at least a year. The President should appoint someone to fill the seat and the Senate should approve the appointment or not. But it seems very likely Mitch McConnell will not hold a vote on the off chance that the Republicans will retake the White House this fall.

The Supreme Court is now composed of four conservatives and four liberals, which means a LOT of very important issues will result in a tie. It is hard to overstate what a huge change this is.
