Earth to Stupid People

Ever since the final Presidential debate on Thursday night, there have been a lot of Republicans and many political pundits gasping and fainting onto their couches because Joe Biden said that America needs to transition away from oil. Not only has Trump tried to make that admission the focus of the election, and away from his criminally incompetent handling of the pandemic, but a lot of stupid people are wringing their hands about it.

Here's the deal.

A large majority of Americans understand that we need to transition away from fossil fuels. This is not primarily because they cause pollution of our air, ground and water, or because there is definitely a finite supply of oil, but because burning petroleum is one of the biggest contributors to the climate crisis. In short, if we don't stop using fossil fuels, we'll leave the planet a burning husk. To anyone with half a brain and a footing in reality, Biden was stating the obvious.

So, Republicans and pundits, stop being so stupid! Okay, pundits stop; Republicans don't have a choice.

Sheesh.

So essentially you`re saying that Trump might still lift the trophy on November 3rd because he thinks its better to fill your Rolls-Royce or Mercedes with traditional gasoline rather than using any other method of power ! ?, and quite a high percentage of Americans agree with him on that key point!. Would that be a good summation of what you wrote ?.

Rather the opposite. I don't believe it was a mistake for Biden to state the reality that we must transition away from fossil fuels and I don't think that pundits should be trying to make that a controversy, because it's not. We move away from fossil fuels or millions die as the planet becomes less hospitable to human life.

Honestly, why would anyone be wed to using gasoline? Even if you don't believe in climate change (which makes you ignorant), at the very least, wouldn't it be better to use a non-polluting form of energy?

A non-polluting form of energy that is vastly cheaper than fossil fuels as well.
