Big news this weekend!

"I do think that we're going to see President Trump returning to social media in probably about two or three months here, with his own platform," Trump senior adviser Jason Miller told Fox News' "#MediaBuzz" on Sunday. "And this is something that I think will be the hottest ticket in social media, it's going to completely redefine the game, and everybody is going to be waiting and watching to see what exactly President Trump does."

Miller said he was unable to provide much more in terms of details at this point, but he did reveal that Trump has been having "high-powered meetings" at Mar-a-Lago with various teams regarding the venture, and that "numerous companies" have approached Trump.

"This new platform is going to be big," Miller said, predicting that Trump will draw "tens of millions of people."  Link

Several thoughts.

First, Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!

Okay then.

Trump knows nothing about the design or infrastructure of a social media network. He will contract this out to the cheapest bidder, because he's cheap, and then never pay them. The result will be a terribly designed and implemented system that will be easily hackable and a privacy disaster. (See Parler). The idea that it will "completely redefine the game" is laughable. Seriously, the guy is a moron who couldn't manage a book-share kiosk.

No one wants to host 24/7 racist, seditious Nazi-talk, so good luck finding a robust hosting site.

Inasmuch as people join and post, it will be a Trumpist grievance echo chamber droning on about fake stolen elections, pedophile pizza parlors, Jewish space lasers, and Joe Biden being an enfeebled old man while ignoring that the feeble old man kicked Trump's ass. As other conservative networks have learned, good luck keeping subscribers, because just bitching about liberals isn't particularly interesting when there are no liberals on the site to attack.

Basically, this is transparently a vehicle for Trump to constantly vent his spleen like he used to do on Twitter, while simultaneously grifting his followers and keeping every penny for himself. If it even gets built -- I mean Trump is still planning on releasing his beautiful health care plan, right? -- it won't be the "hottest ticket in social media" but will be an unmitigated clusterfudge and crash pretty quickly.
