It's literally the only positive I've gotten from the Trump era--he made people feel safe enough to be openly racist so it's easier to spot them.
People keep saying that this is dragging us backwards, but it's not. The rot has always been there--it's just now being revealed and brought into the light.
"This isn't who we are. This isn't what America is." Yeah, it is. It's who we've always been. We've just been blind to it and pretended it wasn't the case.
This is a shit year. I feel like we've gotten stupider every year now and we haven't hit the bottom quite yet.
