Hurricane Gustav could stall GOP Convention.
Mindful of the pitfalls of hosting cocktail parties while Gulf Coast residents are being evacuated, John McCain’s campaign suggested Thursday that Republicans could postpone their upcoming national convention in St. Paul if Tropical Storm Gustav makes landfall over the weekend.Okay, "God", this is your chance. If Gustav skips right over the central U.S. and lands on Minnesota, trapping the GOP conventioneers (including Bush, Cheney and the rest of the Administration) with no power or food for a week, you can consider me convinced of your existence.
Accu-Weather storm trackers say nothing is impeding Gustav from turning into a hurricane before it makes landfall in the United States. Maximum sustained winds could reach 111 miles per hour.

Or you could be like former Democrat Party chairman Don Fowler and yuck it up about how thousands of people are going to be displaced from and possibly lose their homes.
Because Democrats care about "the little guy." Apparently, though, not if hundreds of thousands of little guys having their lives ruined might possibly bring them some political gain, in which case they don't give a rat's ass.
You're kidding me. After the pillage and burn tactics of the Republicans these last eight years resulting in thousands of dead American soldiers, repeated violations of the Constitution, and spying on citizens, you're upset by a stupid remark by a Democrat?
Your priorities are misplaced.
I really find it amazing that, as a transhumanist whose stated beliefs are in direct opposition to these right-wingers, you seem to be among the 25% of Americans who feel the Republicans are doing a good job.
As opposed to the 16% who say that the Democrat-controlled Congress is doing a good job...
I don't know if you've noticed, but there are also a lot of Republicans in Congress. Congress as a group always does worse than the President.
Check the approval stats for individual Congressmen. Most will be double Bush's rating.
