It's a dessert and a floor polish!

When we were in Indiana over the holidays we had dinner with family at a favorite Indiana chain Mexican restaurant. They have awesome wet burritos which I can only get a couple of times a year, so I'm always happy to go.

I was interested to see they have a new dessert, described thusly:
Carmelo Cream Straws - Flour tortillas with a sweet cream cheese filling, drizzled with caramel and topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.
Sounds good to me! And they look (ideally) like this:

Sweet! So I order some.

When they arrive, I take a bite of one and YUMMMM! Very nice. Rachel, sitting next to me, tries the one at the other end, but something seems wrong. She cuts into it and sees not delightfully sweet cream cheese, but rather fibrous meaty-looking tendrils. Inexplicably, she pops the piece into her mouth. Umm . . .

Now I've noticed that something is wrong and when she invites me to examine the clearly deformed or mutated dessert, I cut off a piece and INEXPLICABLY POP THE PIECE INTO MY MOUTH!!

Turns out, it's chicken. Chicken in a tortilla, covered in caramel and whipped cream.

Now no one vomits or otherwise makes a huge deal out of it but I joke that they must have a bin for the caramel straws sitting next to a bin with the chicken whatevers. I summon the waiter over and, after apologizing, he goes to tell the kitchen to replace the chicken one with the real thing. We laugh about it and then the waiter returns a few minutes later.

"Funny story," he says. "They have the caramel straws in this bin, and it's sitting right next to a bin with chicken flautas. Now if it were me, I'd have one bin on one side of the kitchen and the other way over on the other side!"

I couldn't help but agree.

Anyway, here's what it looked like. (The flauta is at the top.)

And, damn, just like that. Now I'm hungry.

There is not much in the world that I love more than that Wet Burrito. I love it more than I love most people.
