Rachel attended her first prom over the weekend. She's dating a senior and so got to go even though she's a sophomore. She looked beautiful and very mature.
It was quite the exciting event and the after-prom party was far more elaborate than the ones Carol and I attended. The community center had a movie room, casino games, a money booth, dancing and carnival type challenges. Carol volunteered to help and said the kids were very polite and well-behaved.
Oh, and there was at least one gay couple and one lesbian couple in attendance at the prom and no one freaked out, no one was banned or tricked to go to another prom, no one turned gay because of the exposure and the world did not end.
That's because we're not moronic hicks.
