Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

In last night’s Delaware Senatorial debate aired on CNN, Christine O’Donnell (R-Idiot) said this when asked about the Afghanistan situation:

"When we were fighting the Soviets over there in Afghanistan in the '80s and '90s, we did not finish the job," O'Donnell responded. "So now we have a responsibility to finish the job."

There are at least four major factual errors within those two short sentences.  Apparently her vast knowledge of history and, more specifically, military history, comes from watching Rambo III.
