Don't Waste Your Money!

An HDMI cable, the excellent current standard cable that carries HD video as well as audio, isn't usually included when you buy HD products like TVs, computer monitors, the Xbox or Blu-Ray players.

Here's something you should know.

There is no functional difference between the $60 HDMI cables sold by Best Buy and the $5 HDMI cables sold at Five Below and the sub-$5 HDMI cables you can get on-line.  Really.

I recently bought 4 HDMI cables through Buy.com for $15.  There are deals on HDMI cables all over the Internet.

Don't get ripped off.

One of the comments on that article contained two links to cables on Amazon.com. Did you check those out? The reviews are hilarious.

Wow, those are hilarious! I loved that!

Why on Earth would things that require a cable not include the cable?

Because people don’t think about that when they buy it. They just see an item that’s $10 or $15 cheaper than the competitor’s model.

Stupidly, these devices usually include the last generation composite cables which do the job but aren't as good as HDMI and also require separate audio cables. You'd think that with the actual low cost of HDMI cables, they'd include them. Maybe they're propping up the HDMI cable industry.

I especially liked the links to "other products searched", including the uranium ore and the yodeling pickle!
