And this is one of their best candidates

This woman makes me want to smack my head against the wall repeatedly.
"I support intelligent design," Bachmann told reporters following her speech at the conference, CNN reports. "What I support is putting all science on the table and then letting students decide. I don't think it's a good idea for government to come down on one side of scientific issue or another, when there is reasonable doubt on both sides."

"I would prefer that students have the ability to learn all aspects of an issue," Bachmann said. "And that's why I believe the federal government should not be involved in local education to the most minimal possible process."
This could not be more wrong.  It's not just stupidity, it's willful ignorance.  This kind of thinking would return the United States to the Middle Ages.  It's dangerous to our future.

(If by chance you believe her to be correct, please say so in the comments and I'll educate you why she's wrong on just about every level.  There is enough concentrated stupid in the above to kill an entire college.)

Well, considering only the above quote, she is correct. She does support intelligent design, and yes we should put all the science on the table and let students decide, and yes, the government should not come down on one side of a scientific issue when there’s reasonable doubt.

Of course, there is no science in intelligent design, and there’s no reasonable doubt that intelligent design is complete hogwash.

I can’t quite decipher “…the federal government should not be involved in local eduction to the most minimal possible process.”
