On March 29, 2012 . . .
43 Senate Republicans and four Democrats voted against eliminating $24 billion in tax breaks for five big oil companies. Due to the anti-democratic Senate rules, they succeeded in preserving these annual giveaways of taxpayer money to companies making tens of billions of dollars profit every quarter.
On the same day, 228 House Republicans (all but 10) and no Democrats passed Paul Ryan’s budget plan that would give rich Americans additional tax cuts while gutting social services for the middle class and poor and turn Medicare into a voucher program, effectively destroying it.
Remember.
