The Avengers Rocks!

Just a quick note on "The Avengers".

We saw the movie in 2-D because 3-D sucks.  Hilariously, the Spiderman preview was in 3-D, so it was fairly unwatchable without the glasses.  I don't know if it was a screw-up by the theatre or the Avengers print didn't come with a 2-D preview.

I thought the movie perfectly captured the feel of all the Marvel movies that fed into it.  None of the characters were underused and they all had some great moments.  A few years ago Marvel Comics figured out how to do comic book movies the right way and they've been knocking them out of the park ever since.

Make sure you stay completely through the end credits.  There's an added scene halfway through, but a second one at the very end.  Reportedly it was filmed only two weeks ago and it is AWESOME.  It's the best after-credits scene I've ever watched.  I loved it.
