Voting and hurricane prep

Early voting in Maryland opened yesterday so Carol and I drove over to the Germantown Community Center to vote. As we drove up, we could see people lined up outside the center. We turned into the parking lot and the line was out the door and around the parking lot, something I had never seen. We made a circuit of the lot and left.  We'll vote another day.

It was good to see so many people exercising their Constitutional rights and eternal shame on those Republican legislatures in other states trying to make it more difficult. But then, cheating is how they plan to win.

Afterwards we went to Safeway to buy a couple of things for the coming hurricane.  We really expected to see similar crowds. To our surprise, the store was fully stocked and the crowds were normal. I suspect that wasn't the case today.
