A couple of months ago, I set up a good two-player game, Battle Cry, and badgered Ben into playing me. Battle Cry is a simple miniatures game with cards that direct your troops and dice to resolve combat. I know Ben likes conflict games and he had been studying the Civil War, so I thought he'd like it.
Once I got him through it, he did like it.
Ben took the Union because he hates the Confederates (yeah, me too). While I captured the first flag or two, he quickly rallied and despite my tactical advantage on the hills, with good dice rolls he wiped me out.
