No divine intervention needed, thank you

For the past week I’ve been nervously watching the news of the Alabama hostage situation, hoping the five year old boy wouldn’t be harmed. Happily, he was rescued last night and his captor shot dead.
Melissa Nighton, city clerk in Midland City, said a woman had been praying in the town center Monday afternoon. Not long after, the mayor called with news that Dykes was dead and that the boy was safe.
"She must have had a direct line to God because shortly after she left, they heard the news," Nighton said. Link
Let’s be clear. This boy is safe and back with his family due to the efforts of the local police, the FBI and all the other professionals who responded, waited six days in hopes of a peaceful resolution, and then successfully rescued the boy. If a “just and loving god” HAD been involved, he would have gotten this deranged man some desperately needed help BEFORE he shot an elderly bus driver to death, terrorized a group of children, dragged some poor little boy into a hole in the ground for six days, and put the boy’s family through what must have been utter hell.

If it was actually some god who resolved this but required six days of desperate prayers from terrified people before he responded, then he’s a HUGE dick and absolutely unworthy of worship.
