Today's the Day! Everything is better edition.

Woo hoo! Today we get to watch the Supreme Court destroy unions in America and grant corporations religious rights to determine whether or not their employees get to take birth control! (And surgery, psychiatry, blood transfusions, etc.)

USA!  USA!  USA!

Burwell v. Hobby Lobby: Bad decision, yes, but where is all the outrage over the fact that birth control isn’t available over the counter? In any case, this just convinces me even more that employer provided health insurance is a bad idea that should have died long ago.

Harris v. Quinn: I disagree; SCOTUS made the right decision here. It should be the worker’s decision on whether to support a union. However, unions shouldn’t be required to represent workers who are not members.

I'm pretty sure there is always outrage on the left that birth control is restricted. Of course, it's typically restricted by religious types. Another religious intrusion into our daily lives. Agreed that employer health insurance is a bad idea. Single payer eliminates the problem.

Not sure I agree with you on Harris. All workers benefit from union representation. The free rider problem is definitely a problem. Separating out represented and not represented is problematic.
