Don't whitewash horrible people because they're dead

Just want to make that clear.

I also want to make clear that Charlie Kirk was a horrible human being. It's been excruciating today to watch the media, some elected Democrats, and MAGA act like the hatemonger was a saint. Seriously, some folks said some seriously stupid shit.

Trump wants to give Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom and Congress is talking about putting a statue of him in the Capitol. Other MAGA are comparing Charlie to the victims of 09/11. 

Even worse, the guy who is most effectively calling Trump on his bullshit, California Governor Gavin Newsom wrote:

“The best way to honor Charlie's memory is to continue his work: engage with each other, across ideology, through spirited discourse.”

FUCK THAT. Absolutely infuriating. The best way to honor Charlie's memory is to forget he even existed. Spirited discourse? You mean, this?

In Kirk’s eyes, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman to serve on the court, was an “unqualified” nominee and the “recipient of affirmative action.”

Following flooding in Texas in July, Kirk said the “death toll likely would not have been as high if it wasn't for DEI [diversity, equity, and inclusion].”

Kirk repeatedly pushed anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric, with a specific focus on opposing transgender existence.

During a discussion of gay rights in 2024, Kirk referenced the Bible and noted that passages indicating “lay with another man and be stoned to death” were “God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters.”
