If I were the President of the United States, and had the awful and humbling responsibility to console those who were injured and the families of those killed by a mass murderer with a gun, I think I would try to approach it with as much dignity and seriousness as I could muster. I'm pretty sure I'd have a hard time not sobbing uncontrollably as I met with the victims.
(I cannot imagine how I would deal with a mass murder where the killer was inspired by my own words and actions.)
But, hey, I guess Trump is a much better person than I am, because he had no problem stepping up to the awful moments in Dayton and El Paso. Here he is right after he visited Dayton, attacking Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown and Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley:
Of course, Brown and Whaley DID NOT misrepresent what happened in the hospital. He made that part up.
The White House also did not allow any reporters in with the President and First Lady, saying it wasn't a time for a photo op. Good for them. But then the WH released about a hundred photos of the pair with various injured people, families, and first responders, as well as a 50-second PROMOTIONAL VIDEO so, I guess it WAS time for a photo op?
And then you have this:
This is our "President" grinning like a maniac while giving a mighty "thumbs up" with a baby whose parents were murdered in the Wal-Mart shooting by a man who says his rampage was inspired by Trump. (Oh and this is one of only two victims he met in El Paso, because everyone still in the hospital refused to see him.)
Hey, kid, sorry about your parents, but at least you can frame this picture of your infant self with a grinning moron. I'm sure that will make it all worth it.
This man has no actual empathy or human sympathy. Everything is about HIM.

Because when you're doing the heartbreaking and terrible duty of comforting victims, it's just natural to talk about the crowd size of your last rally and denigrate the local representative.
Asshole.
