Since I'm once again commuting to DC five days a week, I thought you might like to see how cool the DC Metro actually is. It's not "beautiful", as such, but it's a striking style of brutalist architecture with lots of shapes, textures and contrasts. While the station walls and surfaces are in sore need of cleaning, all things considered, it's a litter-free, reliable system.
Below is the Red Line platform facing one of the stairs down to the Orange/Blue/Silver Line at Metro Center. The second image is that downstairs platform with a departing train.
I may not want to be seeing this every day, but I'm happy that my commute does have some interesting sights.
