Senate Minority "leader" Mitch McConnell - the architect of most of what's wrong in America, the man who has likely doomed our democracy, and all around shitshow of a person - said this after Republicans unanimously voted against protecting the most fundamental right in a democracy, the right to vote.
"Well the concern is misplaced, because if you look at the statistics, African American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans."
Yep. In Mitch's mind, there are African Americans and Americans, two separate groups.
Of course Mitch said the quiet part out loud, possibly accidentally, but since his party is deliberately disenfranchising millions in plain sight in legislatures around the country, why should he hide the racism? This is the Republican position. From the party of Lincoln, to the party of oppression, hatred and segregation, now and forever.
