Because it's not enough that people are calling them Nazis, they decided to co-opt 1930s fascist imagery to make the point absolutely clear.

It's because they don't have to hide it anymore. The people who support them are happy for the fascist ideology or don't care, and, for them, added bonus that it pisses of and scares the people they don't like.
Remember, it's the cruely that's the point.
