Pretty much everyone who bailed--and I give a lot of credit to the folks who left right away like Morris Day who left before the ink was dry on that poster--said that they were told it was a non-partisan celebration and walked the moment they found out it was going to be about Trump's ego.
Look, some of these acts are fun, but let's not pretend any of them have been relevant for the past decade or more. And they still bailed. This would be like getting stiffed by DEVO (and no shade--I fucking love DEVO), who haven't been really culturally relevant since the Reagan years. These are acts who make a living playing county fairs, and none of them will debase themselves to play for the national one.
